DEDICATED TO THE ITALIAN GENIUS

BIOGRAPHICAL ART FILM PRODUCED BY SKY. WORLD PREMIÈRE – WITH DIRECTOR JESUS GARCES LAMBERT, AT THE THEATRE IN THE TOWN OF VINCI (FLORENCE) – PROMOTED BY THE PIAGGIO FOUNDATION. HERE IS THE TRAILER

30 September 2019 - The wait is over: Wednesday 2 October 2019, io, Leonardo will be in Italian cinemas, the biographical art film that outlines a passionate and engaging portrait of Leonardo da Vinci five hundred years after his passing. Produced by Sky with Progetto Immagine and distributed by Lucky Red, the feature film will subsequently be broadcast on the Sky channels.

LUCKY RED-OFFICIAL TRAILER: IO, LEONARDO

Selected to play the part of Leonardo da Vinci was the Italian actor Luca Argentero, supported in the cast by Angela Fontana, in the role of Cecilia Gallerani, and Massimo De Lorenzo, as Ludovico il Moro. Filmgoers will have the opportunity to take a “voyage” through the mind of the Master to discover his work method and his capabilities for observation and analysis of reality. Directing Io, Leonardo is Jesus Garces Lambert, with the direction of other acclaimed works under his belt such as Caravaggio – l’anima e il sangue (“Caravaggio – the soul and the blood”).

LUCKY RED-BACKSTAGE PHOTOGALLERY:

Accompanied by the narration of Francesco Pannofino, in the reconstruction of the story of the artist and scientist, the film also looks at less well-known aspects of his life, resulting in a portrayal that is far from the stereotypes. The film is the result of a group effort. In fact, also taking part in its making were Pietro C. Marani, full tenured professor of the History of Modern Art and Museology at Milan Polytechnic, as scientific consultant; Cosetta Lagani, to whom artistic direction was entrusted; screenwriters Sara Mosetti and Marcello Olivieri.
