THIRD OFFICIAL PARTICIPATION IN A ROW OF “THE CLAN” COMMUNITY IN THE ALLURING EVENT ON THE FRENCH COAST: A “RETURN TO THE OCEAN” CHARGED WITH THRILLS, WITH THE NEW “ALL TERRAIN” FROM THE EAGLE BRAND A PROTAGONIST IN THE DEMANDING “DEUS SWANK RALLY” RACE.
Biarritz (France), 12-16 June 2019 - Five days of fun and good vibrations for bikers from all over: the unique charm of the “Wheels and Waves” 2019 event is renewed, now in its eighth edition. The rumble of fantastic bikes, an atmosphere with an alluring charm, surprises and thrills.
It was the third consecutive “official” participation of the Moto Guzzi community, The Clan, enjoying the growl of the engines, the surf rock tunes, the glare of sunset on chrome, and many warm smiles, along with many Guzzisti friends of the community who gathered here, more and more numerous every year.
The Moto Guzzi Eagle once again demonstrated its value, winning over the bike enthusiasts of Biarritz: with the same essential and authentic style of the new range – beginning from the Moto Guzzi V85 TT “all terrain” – and with the unique sensations of the test rides on the winding roads along the French coast, as well as with the gorgeous specials by Officine Rossopuro (Italy), much admired by all: Tabula Rasa 700, on a Moto Guzzi V7 base, and Domino 1400 on a California base.
But the Eagle also flexed rumbling muscles in the vintage style enduro rally, the true cornerstone of the W&W entertaining, now in its second edition. In fact, this year Moto Guzzi entered a V85 TT ridden by a member of The Clan, chosen by popular vote among the French community, in the hardest race of the event: the Deus Swank Rally, crossing the scenic Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle track, which winds its way through fields and forests for 6 km.
It was a challenge against themselves: in fact, the one-hundred-plus participants were “self-timed”. The start was on Friday 14 June at 11:30 a.m. with re-entry to the W&W Village Cité de l’Océan in the afternoon (with the final awards ceremony). Roaring engines, mud and glory!
