RADICAL GUZZI’S MGR 1200
ON THE GLEMSECK 101 CIRCUIT

Germany, Leonberg, 3 September 2016 – When the motorbikes of “Essenza” (“The essence of motorcycles”) design contest went into full throttle for the 1/8 mile sprint down the Glemseck 101 circuit, the air became dense with the smell of rubber tearing up the tarmac, the roar of the engines, the adrenaline of the riders, the thrilled reactions of the public.

Astride his powerful Moto Guzzi MGR 1200, customised by Germany’s Radical Guzzi garage, rider Josef Leitl “Lightning Sepp” hadn’t given his rivals an inch of leeway through to the fiercely fought semi-final. Take a look at this video of the event, you almost feel as if you were actually there, cheering on Moto Guzzi.

Then, at the start of the semi-final, the MGR 1200 lost its rear wheel grip for a moment, but the determined Bavarian rider managed to finish the race on his Guzzi with a solid third place on the podium.

On Saturday 8 October, at Intermot Customized (part of the International Motorcycle, Scooter and E-Bike Fair in Cologne), the 16 “Essenza” bikes took part in the second 1/8 mile acceleration trial, valid as the final, with awards presented to the winners.
