Is Molas (Sardinia), 4-14 March 2019 – The eagerly awaited international press launch for the new Moto Guzzi V85 TT was attended by 120 journalists from 17 countries, including the United States. They took turns riding the new MG V85 TT available in both versions (mono-colour and two-colour), along an exciting route of bends and hairpins, through magnificent scenery along the coast and in the interior.
The reporters tested a formidable motorbike in the stunning surroundings of southern Sardinia, starting out from the enchanting Is Molas Golf resort.
The route included 130 km along fascinating roads, plus a short 11 km off-road loop, to test the bike’s features in the widest possible variety of situations, typical of adventurous riders who don’t stop when the tarmac ends.
The verdicts on the motorcycle were a real ovation, starting with the unique, unmistakeably Moto Guzzi design. A magnificent “high-confidence” frame, which maintains its rigour even in the hands of the sportiest riders; manageable and extremely stable, with a reassuring sensation of total control of the front wheel.
Compact, not too high off the ground, very comfortable with a great erect riding position, and a large handlebar giving a feeling of control at all times. The engine won excellent marks too, with its rich torque and decisive power at medium revs, and a maximum 8000 revs, exceptional for an air-cooled two-valve twin-cylinder.
Rugged but also biddable for a leisure drive or in the city, thanks to the absence of an on-off effect and contained vibration rate. In short, a motorcycle not just for Guzzi lovers but for every biker looking for outstanding performance and a dynamic ride, as well as comfort and protection for tourism, on a two-wheeler with a unique style.
The Moto Guzzi MIA app, which connects the rider’s smartphone with the vehicle, also won plaudits. With the Moto Guzzi app, the smartphone turns into a centre providing info about the ride and the bike, as well as enabling easy-to-use pictogram navigation on the instrumentation. The app also lets riders receive calls, manage music and talk to the passenger.
