EDDI LA MARRA WINS RACE 2 AND TAKES THE ITALIAN TITLE WITH ONE ROUND STILL LEFT TO RACE. FIRST PODIUM WITH APRILIA FOR ALEX SGROI IN SECOND PLACE. AN HISTORIC “ONE-TWO” FOR NUOVA M2 RACING WHICH PUTS THE APRILIA RSV4 1100 BIKES ON THE TOP TWO STEPS OF THE PODIUM.

From the left, Eddi La Marra and Alex Sgroi, both on Aprilia RSV4 1000 and both on the top two steps of the podium.

Scarperia (Italy), 22 September 2019 - A tedious Sunday morning at the Mugello Circuit with wet asphalt from the rainfall during the night. In the National Trophy 1000, Eddi La Marra, with a chance to close out the championship a round early, had a perfect start. It was a brief battle for first with La Marra gaining the upper hand and pulling ahead of the rest with his Aprilia RSV4 1100, maintaining the position all the way to the end. Today’s win gives him the title a full round early. Eddi La Marra is back to his winning ways after full recovery following his serious accident in 2013.

Alex Sgroi started the race very well from the fourth spot on the grid. He raced the entire distance on his teammate’s pipes, lying in second place and protecting his ally against any possible attacks from behind. He finished second for his first podium after an entire season of development astride his Aprilia RSV4 1100.
A historic “one - two” for Nuova M2 Racing as they place two riders on the top steps of the podium on the day the championship is won.

Eddi La Marra - National Trophy 1000 (bike no. 47): “It was a very difficult weekend. I am not feeling very well, but I tried to give it my all, holding strong in the race because it was worth it. I owed Nuova M2 Racing because all the guys have done an exaggeratedly outstanding job from the beginning of the season. I am very happy with the team because we always work well. I am pleased to have given this great satisfaction to Enzo.”
Alex Sgroi - National Trophy 1000 (bike no. 33): “I am very happy with the way the race went. We had just a bit of data gathered on the wet track, but the Nuova M2 Racing team managed to do a fantastic job. I wish to thank all the people who contributed to this great result - the team, Aprilia, my family, the sponsors and the people who always follow me.”
