Malaysia, 3 February 2020 - These days it is "Sepang Shakedown": testers and rookies inaugurate the 2020 MotoGp season, before the official tests scheduled for February 7 to 9. For the first time, the rookies of the premier class have the opportunity to go down the track with the test riders: in fact, at the Sepang International Circuit, the drivers who have just been promoted to the highest category go on the track for the shakedown - from 2 to 4 February - together with the testers. At the end of 2019, the race commission decided to open the doors of the Sepang shakedown test also to the rookies, so that they have more time to adapt to the new category.
Bradley Smith, official tester of Aprilia Racing Team Gresini in these days is testing the new Aprilia RS-GP 20 on the track after the strong changes made to the bike compared to that of 2019; next step: Aleix Espargaro’ and Bradley Smith riding the new 2020 motorcycle for the first official tests of the 2020 season. Meanwhile, at the Sepang shakedown there is also Lorenzo Salvadori in the Aprilia pits, who takes part in the tests dedicated to the testers and rookies of the highest category while riding the RS-GP 19.

Malaysia, February 4, 2020: Aleix Espargarò also tested the new RS-GP 20. The Aprilia Racing Team Gresini rider tested the new bike on the last day of the shakedown on the Sepang track, Tuesday 4 February, where test driver Bradley Smith "turns" as early as last Sunday. And Aleix was among the fastest in the unofficial times classification. On his twitter profile he comments: “After the shakedown and 25 laps on the RS-GP 2020 the only thing I can say is: WOW!!!! Thanks, Aprilia, for the hard work of this past six months. It will be a fun year!”
