APRILIA ALSO WINS IN OFFROAD

VICTORY FOR THE APRILIA TUAREG RIDDEN BY JACOPO CERUTTI: HE WINS THE FIRST SPECIAL AT THE TRANSANATOLIA RALLY IN TURKEY, RACING ON TREACHEROUS TERRAIN AT UP TO 189 KM/H

THE ABSOLUTE VICTORY OF THE LEG IS THE FIRST CONFIRMATION FOR THE TWIN-CYLINDER FROM NOALE WHICH, IN THE DEMANDING TURKISH RACE, IN ITS FIRST EXPERIENCE DOING A BIG INTERNATIONAL RAID.

Noale, 7 September 2023 – Registered in the Transanatolia in the scenario of the “Back to Africa” project, launched to bring the Aprilia brand back to big African raids, the Tuareg took a historic winthe first for the young enduro twin-cylinder from Noale.
Jacopo Cerutti dominated the first and dreaded special trial of the Turkish race. On particularly treacherous terrain, characterised by gravel and mud, it flew over the route traps, even touching a top speed of 189 km/h - proof of the engine and riding features of the Aprilia Tuareg, derived directly from the factory bike.
With this great performance in the special, Cerutti took the win in the leg, the longest and most dreaded of the race on Turkish soil, winning the absolute top spot as well as in the category, of course, reserved for multiple-cylinder bikes between 650 and 1,300 cc.

In the overall standings, Cerutti is now third, catching up quickly to the leaders after his category win last Tuesday and after the first two days - the Tuareg’s absolute début - were spent getting acquainted with such a new project.
With this participation in the Rally Transanatolia, the first important international test for the Aprilia Tuareg developed by Aprilia Racing in collaboration with GCorse, the project which intends to bring Aprilia back to the big off-road races, including those on African soil, enters the decisive phase.
There are two twin-cylinder adventure bikes from Noale on the starting grid of the competition that will come to an end on 9 September, entrusted to the two Aprilia Racing factory riders, Jacopo Cerutti and Francesco Montanari.

The Turkish rally is as thrilling as it is demanding and it will go through Anatolia from the Black Sea all the way to the Aegean Sea, covering a total of 2,500 km. A true test bench for the competition Tuareg in view of future undertakings in the African desert.
The Aprilia Tuareg developed for rally raids is built on the technical base of the bike which - closely derived from the factory model - is a huge protagonist in the Italian Motorally Championship, where Jacopo Cerutti currently leads in the G-1000 category, reserved for multi-cylinder bikes bigger than 600 cc.
